afro-semetic is also a racial and language catagory. It describes people of Ethiopian and Eritrean origin namely the tribes of Tigre, Tigrinya, Amhara.

The group is a collaboration between musicians of Jewish heritage and musicians of African-American heritage. Their approach blends the musical backgrounds of the bandmates, ties it all together with a foundation of jazz, and produces a unique, swinging, soulful sound. They sound great and also promote dialogue, understanding and peace across racial barriers.
